The Life and Times of Ethan John

Perhaps God is a poet
Who writes with words
Of flesh and bone and leaf and flower
Every hour of every day
Words pour out of the Poet's Heart
And every word is beautiful
And true and worth the telling
And when each
Poem is perfect
And there is no more which ought to be said
The Poet gently takes the words
Back into his heart where
They are safe forever
And then begins again

Ethan was with us for only a short time, but the lives he touched and the love he brought to our world is nothing short of miraculous. As his Daddy, one of my jobs was to chronicle his growth and development with whatever media todays technology made available. That included sound, still pictures and video. For now, we've got plenty of pictures to share with folks, and I'm working on getting the sound and motion up on the site, too!

Another Beautiful Card:

I give you this one thought to keep
I am with you still, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle Autumn rain
When you awaken in the mornings hush
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night
Do not think of me as gone
I am with you still in each new dawn

Perhaps they are not the stars
But rather openings in Heaven
Where the love of our lost ones
Pours through and shines
Down upon us
To let us know they are happy
